What began in 1954 as an iron trading business in Waidhofen an der Ybbs is today a group with companies in six countries — run by the fourth generation.
How we see it
Every tonne we accept is a mixture. Our job is to break that mixture down far enough that what comes out at the end can be used again by a smelter, a steelworks or an injection moulder. The deeper the separation goes, the more material stays in the loop — and the less ends up in incineration or landfill.

Collection, depollution, shredding, non-ferrous separation, plastics processing and trading are all in one hand. That means the next buyer does not decide how deep the separation goes — we do, and we regularly choose the more demanding stage.

The Smasher for depolluting electrical appliances and the EVA shredder for e-scrap were both developed here. Anyone opening up new material streams — photovoltaic modules most recently — can rarely wait for off-the-shelf equipment.

The large sites have their own rail sidings, and there is access to the Danube port at Enns. A growing share of volumes therefore travels by rail instead of motorway — the reason for the Rail Cargo Group environmental award.

The roots are in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the core of the processing in Amstetten and Kematen. The companies in Central and South-Eastern Europe work to the same standards as the parent plant.
